Bhoker Heri (भोकर हेड़ी) or Bhokar Hedi (भोकर हेड़ी) or Bhokarheri or Bhokaredi is a small village in Jansath tahsil of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. It is head village of Bhokar Hedi Khap, which has 52 villages in it. [1]

Location

It is situated 28km away from Jansath town and 28km away from Muzaffarnagar city. Bhikkanpur, Majlishpur and Sukertari are some of the nearby villages.

Bhokhar Hedi Khap consists of 52 villages in Muzaffarnagar district on the Bank of River Ganga in Uttar Pradesh. There are many Jat Gotras in this Khap. Bhokhar Hedi village has Chaudharahat of this Khap.[3]

भोखरहेड़ी खाप

57. भोखरहेड़ी खाप - यह खाप 52 गांव की है जो मुजफ्फरनगर जिले में गंगा नदी के किनारे बसे हुए हैं. इस खाप में कई गोत्रों के गांव शामिल हैं. भोकरहेड़ी गांव में इस खाप की चौधराहट है.[4]

History

Dr Girish Chandra Dwivedi [5] has mentioned in his book The Jats - Their Role in the Mughal Empire about historical records maintained by Khaps. A Sarva Khap Panchayat was held here in samvat 1256, 1305, 1312.

Population

Population of Bhoker Heri according to Census 2011, stood at 638 (Males: 362, Females: 276).[6]

दलीपसिंह अहलावत लिखते हैं -

इस वंश में चौ० शहजादसिंह पंजाबकेसरी महाराजा रणजीतसिंह का अंगरक्षक वीर योद्धा था। उसके वंशज भोकरहेड़ी में रहते हैं।[7]
