Origin

Hal (Jat clan) = Halava (हलवा) (L.6). Halava (हलवा) (L.6) patti is mentioned in Tahankapar Plate Of Pamparajadeva - (Kalachuri) Year 965 (=1213 AD). ^[2] Tahkapar (टहकापार) is a village in Charama tahsil of Kanker district in Chhattisgarh. Halba () is a village in Charama tahsil of Kanker district in Chhattisgarh.

History

H.A. Rose writes that Hal (हाल), a tribe of Jats which once held the tract now occupied by the Lillas in the Jhelum Thal, but now reduced to a few families. Extensive mounds west of Lilla village mark the site of their ancient settlement. ^[3]
