Pehalwan subhram

Pehalwan subhram (Dalal) was a 7.4 feet tall, 135 kg heavy wrestler of Mattan village of Jhajjar district in Haryana.

He fought more than 500 fights but never lost. Pehalwanji was at his full charm during the time of great Haryanavi poet, Pandit Lakhmichand ji. He was famous for his dhobipachhaad tackles. During early 1950's, he traveled to Kabul, Kandhar, Lahore in the West, and Dhaka, Burma and Colombo to defeat all wrestlers of those cities and won the title of 'Bharat-kesari'.

Today, many akhada and wrestling academy are run in the name of Chaudhry Subhram Dalal Pehalwan.
