Bhurjee(भुर्जी) is a famous Jat, Khatri and Ramgarhia (Tarkhan)surname found in Punjab (India).

Origin

Bhurjee Tarkhan people are said to be of Indo-Scythian origin.Because of the close ethnic relation of Tarkhan with Jat and Khatri tribes, therefore Bhurjee is also a Khatri and a Jatt surname. Like all the Khatri, Jat, Ramgarhia, Rajput, Kamboj, Gujjar, Lohar tribes (all the 7 tribes have close ethnic relation), Bhurjee clan is also of Indo-Scythian origin

Distribution

They are found in Patiala, Amritsar, Haryana, Ambala, Chandigarh, Mohali and Jalandhar.
