Arpa River

Arpa River (अरपा नदी) is the river of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh. It is a major tributary of the river Seonath River that meets with Mahanadi.
Origin
Arpa River originates from Khodri village of Pendraroad Gaurella block District GPM and flows to meet with Seonath River at Matiyari village of Bilha block of Bilaspur district.
Course
Arpa River has its origin from the lust dense forest area of Khondari-Khongsara. In 147 km of the river length, it contributes more than 90 km to the forest area, including Bilaspur city and irrigated lands of this district before meeting to Seonath river. The river is having catchment area of about 2022 km2. During rainy season its water level raises 2–3 meters up and in summer it moves 5 meters down. The river bed is mostly sandy with thickness of about 1.5 meter and few rock exposures at some places.
Seonath river is a main tributary of Mahanadi River which is known as the perennial source of irrigation in the state of Chhattisgarh.

अरपा नदी का उद्गम पेण्ड्रा पठार की पहाड़ी से हुआ है। यह महानदी की सहायक नदी है। यह बिलासपुर जिला में प्रवाहित होती है और बरतोरी के निकट ठाकुर देवा नामक स्थान पर शिवनाथ नदी में मिल जाती है। इसकी लम्बाई 147 किलोमीटर है। [1]

The Arpa (Armenian: Արփա; Azerbaijani: Arpaçay) is a river that flows through Armenia and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan exclave. Originating in Armenia's Vayots Dzor province (marz), it is a left tributary of the Aras. It is 128 km long. It runs through many cities and towns, including Jermuk, Vayk, Yeghegnadzor, Areni, Oğlanqala, Siyaqut and Qışlaqabbas.
