Dhanake is Jat Gotra in Punjab.
History
They are mentioned by Cunningham[1] in an inscription at the Buddhist Stupa of Sanchi of the Ashoka period as under:
No. 151. — Ayadhanakasa bhichhuno dānam.
- " Gift of Aryadhanaka, the mendicant monk."
Distribution
Dhanake population is 19,500 in Patiala district.[2]
