Dharasu ( धरासू) is a village in Chiniyalisaur Tehsil of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, India.

It is located at an elevation of 1339 m above MSL. The Dharasu Power Station is located there, on the Bhagirathi River. National Highway 108 originates at Dharasu. National Highway 94 passes through the town.

According to Census 2011 information the location code or village code of Dharasu village is 040642. Dharasu village is located in Chiniyalisaur Tehsil of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, India. It is situated 5km away from sub-district headquarter Chiniyalisaur and 32km away from district headquarter Uttarkashi. As per 2009 stats, Dharasu village is also a gram panchayat. The total geographical area of village is 54.78 hectares. Dharasu has a total population of 157 peoples. There are about 36 houses in Dharasu village. Uttarkashi is nearest town to Dharasu which is approximately 32km away.[1]

History

धरासू

भारत के उत्तराखण्ड राज्य के उत्तरकाशी ज़िले में स्थित एक नगर है। राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-34 यहाँ से गुज़रता है। यह 1,339 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर भागीरथी नदी के किनारे बसा हुआ है। धरासू मवालश्यूं का सबसे बड़ा गाँव है। इसके आसपास के गाँव है: मवालस्यूं, चौबटाखाल, रणस्वा , ढँगसोली, मरडा और बुरसोली। मैणा सबसे नज़दीकी गाँव है।
