H. D. Deve Gowda

Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda (born 18 May 1933) is a politician and Ex. Prime Minister of India from June 1996 to April 1997. Previously he was the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996.

He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Hassan constituency of Karnataka, is the National President of the Janata Dal (Secular) party, and enjoys strong support in the Vokkaliga community which is at the forefront of the state politics.

Role in Job Reservation for Jats

H. D. Deve Gowda's role in getting OBC status for Jats in Job Reservation is unparalleled. He constituted National Commission for Backward Classes and got recommendation in favour of Jats to include in OBC List.

एचडी देवगौड़ा का जीवन परिचय

एचडी देवगौड़ा: कर्नाटक के किसान नेता एचडी देवगौड़ा चौ. कुम्भाराम आर्य के करीबी दोस्त रहे। देवगौड़ा देश के प्रथम किसान नेता प्रधानमंत्री बने। चौधरी चरण सिंह तो कुछ ही महीनों के लिए मेहमान PM बने थे। देवगौड़ा ने कानून को पहली बार नई दिशा दी। किसानों को अन्नदाता माना तथा किसान के हित में नए कानून बनाए। देवगौड़ा ने कहा कि कानून के सम्मुख प्रधानमंत्री से लेकर मजदूर तक बराबर है। कानून को तोड़ा गया तो उसे बख्शा नहीं जाएगा। भ्रष्टाचारी नेता, अफसर कानून के शिकंजे में फंस गए, इसी वजह से उन्हें जानबूझकर गद्दी से उतार दिया। कुंभाराम आर्य का ऐसी महान विभूतियों से नजदीकी संबंध रहा तथा समय-समय पर इन लोगों से विचार विमर्श होता रहा।
