In Mahabharata
Hiranyabindu (हिरण्यबिन्दु) (Tirtha) is mentioned in Mahabharata (III.85.15), (XIII.26.10),
Vana Parva, Mahabharata/Book III Chapter 85 mentions sacred asylums, tirthas, mountans and regions of eastern country. Hiranyabindu (हिरण्यबिन्दु) (Tirtha) is mentioned in Mahabharata (III.85.15).[1]..........O chief of the Bharata race, that the place hath come to be called Prayaga (प्रयाग) (III.85.14). In this direction, O foremost of kings, lieth the excellent asylum of Agastya (अगस्त्य) (III.85.15), O monarch, and the forest called Tapasa, decked by many ascetics. And there also is the great tirtha called Hiranyavindu (हिरण्यबिन्दु) (III.85.15) on the Kalanjara (कालंजर) (III.85.15) hills, and that best of mountains called Agastya, which is beautiful, sacred and auspicious.
Anusasana Parva/Book XIII Chapter 26 mentions the sacred waters on the earth. Hiranyabindu (हिरण्यबिन्दु) (Tirtha) is mentioned in Mahabharata (XIII.26.10). [2]....By plunging in the waters of Hiranyabindu with a concentrated mind and reverencing that sacred stream, and bathing next at Kusheshaya and Devendra, one becomes cleansed of all one's sins.
हिरण्यविंदु
हिरण्यविंदु (AS, p.1025) को महाभारत वनपर्व 87, 20 में कालंजर (कालिंजर) की पहाड़ी पर स्थित एक तीर्थ माना गया है-‘हिरण्यबिंदुःकथितो गिरौ कालंजरे महान्’। [3]
