Jai Lal Dalal Jai Lal Dalal - an agriculture scientist, belongs to village Daboda Kalan (Mehndipur) in Jhajjar district of Haryana.

Son of Roop Chand, he was educated in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad in Pakistan) and later did his Masters in Agriculture Science from PAU, Ludhiana. Joined Government Service in 1938 and rose to become the Director, Agriculture in Haryana. Post retirement in 1974, he was sent to Afghanistan by the Govt. of India to propagate groundnut cultivation. He served on many Planning Commission committees and was Member of Board of Management of HAU, Hisar. He was conferred the Vyoshreshtha Samman by the Govt. of India for the year 2007. At 92, he is the oldest living alumus of PAU, Ludhiana. In excellent health, he lives in his farm in Panchkula district, using his time to contribute articles on agriculture in leading English dailies as well as build scientific temper in rural youth. Has five children, three sons and two daughters.
