Majri (माजरी), is a village in Kharar tehsil of Rupnagar district in Punjab.

The Founders

History

It is the native village of Sir Zaildar Amar Singh Dahiya who held the strongest Zail of 68 villages during British Raj and was presented with the title of Sir by Lord Mountbatten. His only daughter Smt. Kela Devi is married to Padam Shree Moti Singh Rana, one of the most prominent Jat leaders in India. It is the homeland of prominently strong Jat community of Dahiya gotra.
