History
Bundela ruler Chhatrasal was born in Maur hill near Kachar Kachnai on 4 May 1649, present Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh to Champat Rai and Lal Kunwar.[1] His father Champat Rai was fighting at that time with Aurangzeb and had taken shelter in the forests of Maur hill. Chhatrasal was 12 when his father Champat Rai of Mahoba was killed by the Mughals.

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है .... मोर (बुंदेलखंड) (AS, p.763): बुंदेला नरेश छत्रसाल का जन्म इस स्थान पर 1649 ई.† में हुआ था. यह कटेरा नामक ग्राम से चार पांच मील दूर है. छत्रसाल के पिता चंपतराय इस समय औरंगजेब के साथ युद्ध कर रहे थे और उन्होंने मोर पहाड़ी के वनों में शरण ली थी.
