Nahrwala is a town in Punjab Province of Pakistan.

History

Mahmud of Ghazni had sacked the temple city of Somnath and the wealthy enterpot of Nahrwala (Anhilwara, Modern Patan Gujarat) and in 593 H (AD=1197) Nahrwala had again been looted by Qutb al din Aybeg.[1]

According to H.A. Rose [2]After the defeat of Rai Pithaura in 1192, and the capture of Delhi by Muhammad of Ghor, Jatwan raised the standard of national resistance to Muhammadan aggression at Hansi, but was defeated on the borders of the Bagar by Qutb-ud-din Ibak who then took Hansi. It is apparently not certain that Jatwan was a Jat leader. Firishta says Jatwan was a dependent of the Rai of Nahrwala in Guzerat.[3]
