Okha

Okha (ओखा) is a small coastal town in Jamnagar district of Gujarat in India. It has a sea port. Okha is famous for its Krishna Temple Bet Dwarka dedicated to Krishna on Bet Dwarka island across a small creek from Okha port.
Location
Okha is situated on a narrow strip of land that projects into sea. It is surrounded by sea on three sides and has a sandy beach on Arabian Sea coast. It has a sea port on the lee side. Bet Dwarka lies on the other side of a small creek from Okha port. Dwarka city is about 30 km from Okha.

Origin of the name
Okha is word degenerated from Sanskrit word Usha. Some writers believe that it gets name from River named Usha originating from village called Dhrewan. Others believe that it gets name from Usha , the daughter of Banasura who married with Aniruddha, grandson of Krishna.[1]

Some of the major companies in Okha is Tata Chemicals at Mithapur, about 10 km away towards Dwarka city.
