Pithora is a town and Tehsil in Mahasamund district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is located on Ram Van Gaman Path.

Geography
Pithora is located at 21.27°N 82.52°E. It has an average elevation of 304 metres (997 feet). Pithora is 50 km North to the District Headquarter Mahasamund on National Highway 53 (formerly National Highway 6).
Pithora is situated on four-lane National Highway 53 and direct connected to Mahasamund, Raipur, Saraipali, Sarangarh, Kasdol through roadways. Nearest railway stations are Bagbahara and Mahasamund.
History
पिथौरा
पिथौरा भारत के छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के महासमुन्द ज़िले में स्थित एक नगर है। पिथौरा अपने चित्रकला के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। यहां राजा राइ और सेना आदि की तसवीर दीवाल पर बनाए जाते थे ये नगर प्राचीन काल से छत्तीसगढ़ जो की राजा अकबर के समय रतनपुर के नाम से जाना जाता था चित्रकला से प्रसिद्ध हुए।
