Ramaniyaka

Ramaniyaka Dvipa (रामणीयकद्वीप) refers to the name of an Island inhabited by Nagas and mentioned in the Mahābhārata (I.22.8). Historian N.L.Dey has identified it with Armenia.[1]

Armenia = Ramaniyaka-Dvipa of Mahabharata (Adiparva-26)[2]
One of the Dvipas of the Ocean (Malayadvipa) mentioned in the Puranas is called Ramaniyaka (Williums Skt Dict.).[3]
The Naga Island Ramaniyaka contained a forest inhabited by Gandharvas (1.27).[4]
In Mahabharata
Ramaniyaka Dvipa (रामणीयक द्वीप) is mentioned in Mahabharata (I.22.8). [5]...."And upon Indra's causing that downpour, the Nagas became exceedingly delighted. And the Earth was filled with water all around. And the cool, clear water reached even the nether regions. And there were countless waves of water all over the Earth. And the Nagas with their mother reached (in safety) the island called Ramaniyaka."
रामणीयक द्वीप
रामणीयक (AS, p.790) नामक एक द्वीप का उल्लेख महाभारत, आदिपर्व 26, 8 में हुआ है- 'तदा भूरभवच्छन्ना जलोमिंभिरनेकशः, रामणीयकमागच्छन् मात्रासहभुजंगमाः।' नं. ल. डे के मत में यह वर्तमान आर्मिनिया देश है।[6]
