"Sher Singh Dagar" (born 1950) son of Chaudhary Risal Singh Dagar of village Hauz Rani but shifted to nearby village Shahpur Jat in Delhi because Hauz Rani was mostly dominated by Muslim Dagar Jats. He is an agriculturalist, social worker, politician, student activist and businessman. Sher Singh went to Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of University of Delhi where he was President of the college in 1970. In 1972 he was elected as the generanl secretary of DUSU, where Arun Jaitly was vice President in that year.

2008 - MLA ticket from BJP "Mehrauli" Delhi Vidhan Sabha, but lost by just 1108 votes from Yoganand Shastri. There were 4 Jats heavy weights contesting from Mehrauli seat

  • Independent - Mayor Of Delhi Satbir Gandas from Mehrauli village
  • BJP - Sher Singh Dagar - student leader and vice President of BJP Delhi
  • BSP - Ved Prakash Mann from Kishangarh village, he was the richest candidate in the election his affidavit showed 217 crore Rupees (in 2020 election his relative Dharampal Lakra was also the richest candidate in the election of Delhi, he showed 292 crore Rupees)
