Tankara (टंकारा) is a town in Morbi district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Tankara is considered a holy city to Arya Samajis because it is the birthplace of Swami Dayananda Saraswati, founder of the Arya Samaj, who was born on 12 February 1824.[1]
Location
It is situated on the Demi River and on Rajkot-Morbi Highway, 20 kms from Morbi in southwest, 40 kms from Rajkot in north, and 80 kms from Jamnagar.

टंकारा
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ...टंकारा (AS, p.378) मोरवी जिला, काठियावाड़ (गुजरात) के निकट एक ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। यह स्थान काफ़ी महत्त्वपूर्ण है, क्योंकि आर्य समाज के संस्थापक महर्षि दयानन्द सरस्वती के जन्म स्थान के रूप में यह प्रसिद्ध है। दयानन्द सरस्वती का जन्म 1824 ई. में हुआ था। टंकारा डेमी नदी के तट पर बसा हुआ है।
