Chakara (चाकरा) ^[1] is a Jat gotra. Chakar (चाकर) clan is found in Afghanistan. ^[2]Chakar is the name of an ancestral chieftain of the Baloch of Kalat ; he may have been a Chakit Rahtor. ^[3]

'Mount Abu Vimala Temple Inscription of v.s. 1378 (1322 AD)' mentions Chakara in Verse-18:

18. Sri-Desalah sukkri[tapesa]la-Yittako[tis=chamcha]c]chchaturdasajagaj-janita-

vad[āta]h | Satrumjayapramukha-visrutasaptati[rtha]-yātrās=cha[tu]rdasa chakara
