Dwarka

Dwarka (also Dvarka, Dwaraka, and Dvaraka), is a city of Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Gujarat. Dwarka is one of the seven most ancient cities in the country. Its ancient name was Dwaravati (द्वारवती) as mentioned in Mahabharata (III.86.21).

Dwarka is also the site of Dvaraka Pitha, one of the four cardinal mathas established by Adi Shankara, the others being those at Shringeri, Puri and Jyotirmath.
