Badoh (बड़ौह) is a village in tahsil Kurwai of district Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh.

History
Tej Ram Sharma[1] writes that 18. Vaṭodaka (वटोदक) finds mention in Line-4 of 30. Tumain Fragmentary Inscription of the time of Kumaragupta I and Ghatotkachagupta Gupta Year (=A.D. 435).
It is the name of a village. Vata is probably a Prakritic form of vrtta meaning 'surrounded or covered' [2] and the word udaka means 'water'. So the whole will literally mean 'a place surrounded by water'. It has been mentioned in the inscription as the abode of good people where lived a person, who bore the distinguished appellation Srideva. [3]
Vatodaka has been identified with Badoh which is a small village in the Bhilsa district of the old Gwalior State, now in Madhya Pradesh. [4]
बड़ौह
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[5] ने लेख किया है....बड़ौह भीलसा मध्य प्रदेश में स्थित एक ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। बड़ौह मुम्बई-दिल्ली रेलपथ पर कुल्हड़ स्टेशन से 12 मील पूर्व की ओर स्थित है। बड़ौह के विस्तीर्ण खंडहरों से सूचित होता है कि यह स्थान मध्यकाल में समृद्धिशाली नगर रहा होगा। स्थानीय किंवदंती के अनुसार इसका प्राचीन नाम बड़ या वटनगर था। बड़ौह के मुख्य अवशेष है- गाडरमल का मंदिर 9वीं शती ई.; सोलह खंभी, 8वीं शती ई.; दशावतार मंदिर; सतमढ़ी मंदिर जिसके साथ छ: अन्य मंदिरों के अवशेष हैं और जैन मंदिर जिससे छोटे-छोटे 25 मंदिर संबंधित हैं।
