Viharabija (विहारबीज) or Viharabahu was a village in Sri Lanka of which five hundred young men received the pabajja in Buddhism.

In Mahavansha

Mahavansa/Chapter 17 mentions.....And from Cetavigama and also from Dvaramandala and also from Viharabahu even as from Gallakapitha and from Upatissagama, from each of these there received gladly the pabajja five hundred young men in whom faith in the Tathagata had been awakened.

विहारबीज (लंका)

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[1] ने लेख किया है .....विहारबीज (AS, p.866): महावंश 17,59,60 में उल्लिखित एक गाँव। यहाँ के निवासी पांच सौ युवको ने एक साथ बौद्ध धर्म में 'प्रव्रज्या' ग्रहण की थी।
