Ambala Cantt.

Ambala Cantonment (normally written as Ambala Cantt.) (अम्बाला कैंट / अंबाला छावनी) is a cantonment town in Ambala district in Haryana, comprising many units of Indian Army and Indian Air Force. This cantonment was established in the year 1843 and is an important centre for manufacturing of scientific and surgical instruments. It has a railway station in its own name.

Recently, Govt. of Haryana has given it the status of a fulfledged tahsil, which includes civil areas and villages in and around the military controlled boundaries.

Location

It is 200 km north of Delhi and 55 km southwest of Chandigarh.
