Ashwatar

Ashwatar (अश्वतर)[1] Jat gotra gets its name from Nagavanshi ruler Ashwatara (अश्वतर). They fought Mahabharata War in Kaurava's side.[2]

- Ashwatar (अश्वतर) (Jat clan) → Ashvatthanagara (अश्वत्थनगर) is mentioned in Riddhapur plates of 19th year of Prabhavatigupta. [3] Asvatthanagara (अश्वत्थनगर) has been identified with Asatpur in the Achalpur tahsil of the Amaravati District of Vidarbha. (p.34)
