This village is established by Odh (ओढ) Jati. But now Odh are not residing in this village. No official origin year or time available.

Mention by Pliny
Pliny[3] mentions Arabia....Also, the island of Chelonitis27, numerous islands of Ichthyophagi, the deserts of Odanda, Basa, many islands of the Sabæi, the rivers Thanar and Amnume, the islands of Dorice, and the fountains of Daulotos and Dora.
27 Stephanus mentions this as an island of the Erythræan Sea. Hardly any of these places appear to have been identified; and there is great uncertainty as to the orthography of the names.

It is situated on National highway no-09. It is in Sirsa District of Haryana. It is 30 Kilometer away from Sirsa District Headquarter. Odhan is a block headquarter and it has all basic facilities like college, hospital, power house, ITI, E-Disha Kendra and Government and Private schools with modern amenities. This village has mixture of cultures because it situate near Rajasthan as well as Punjab. Odhan is known for its residents as employees. More than 200 residents are teacher from this village. Some Doctors, Professors and Army persons are also from this village. This village is dominated by Jat Community. Gotras of Jat like Potalia, Godara, Beniwal, Malhan, Bhambhu, Saharan, Legha, Thori, Sihag, Kunder (Jat Sikh), Smag (Jat Sikh) are living in this village. This is one of the biggest village of the district with more than 10000 population.
