Batote
Batote (बटोट) is a town in Ramban district of Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on NH 44 (former name NH 1A) just beyond Patnitop while going towards Srinagar.
Location
The main National Highway (National Highway 244) of Kashmir passes through it.

History
The stuff of poetry and painting, Batote is situated at an altitude of 1560 meters. The bracing climate, enchanting pine forests and good spring water make Batote a famous health resort. This hill resort can be an overnight stop between Jammu and Srinagar. There is a spring close to the town of Batote, known as Amrit Chashma. There is a Tourist Bungalow, tourist huts and several private hotels in Batote. Famous picnic spots like Kud, Patnitop and Sanasar are located very close to Batote.[1]
