History

Bhatija Randhawa, a village in Jalandhar district, Punjab, has a rich history tied to two prominent Jatt Sikh clans—Bhateja and Randhawa. Both clans have long been known for their warrior spirit, agricultural expertise, and leadership in Punjab's history.

The Randhawas, an influential Jatt clan, played a key role in the Sikh Misls during the 18th century, defending Punjab against external invasions. As the Sikh Misls expanded their influence, Randhawa warriors and agriculturists established settlements across Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Gurdaspur, including Bhatija Randhawa, which was named after a Randhawa chieftain who played a central role in its foundation.

The Bhatejas, a powerful Jatt warrior and agricultural clan, settled in the village soon after. Known for their military service, farming expertise, and political leadership, Bhatejas had been actively involved in Sikh resistance against the Mughals.
