Bhuvanagiri (भुवनगिरि) is a town and District of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is located on National Highway 163.

History
Bhongir Fort is one of the isolated monolithic rocks carved by the Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and was thus named after him as Tribhuvanagiri. This name gradually became Bhuvanagiri and subsequently Bhongir.[1]

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ...भुवनगिरि = भौनगिरि, जिला नलगोंडा, आ.प्र., (AS, p.673): इस स्थान पर भयानक चट्टान पर बना हुआ प्राचीन काल का एक दुर्भेद्य दुर्ग स्थित है. यादगिरि पहाड़ी पर नरसिंह स्वामी का प्राचीन मंदिर है और पास ही संत जमाल बहर का मकबरा.
