In 8th generation of Prithvi Raj, Raja Anandpal’s descendant Bachhal came from Bhirani in Rajasthan to Litani (Hisar) in 1387 AD and after staying one night over here made his permanent settlement at Danauda (Jind). Bina Bachhal’s one son could not make a permanent settlement here due to dominance of Muslim population, but named it as Dharmsthan. Bachhal’s second son could be successful in getting settled here permanently. So this place was named ‘dam ke tan’ or ‘Damtan’ meaning a settlement on the basis of strength. Guru Teg Bahadur had camped here when he went to meet Mughal emperor. The then residents of this place offered him 500 acre land and a lot of money. Due to this reason the place was known as ‘Dhamtan Sahib’. There is a Gurudwara here in 900 acres of land and an ancient Shiva temple.

Bachhal had two sons name Beena and Jajjan, First Jajjan went to the Dhamtan and he could not settle himself here because of the Muslim disturbances. There is a Kund named जाजनवाला कुंड. Then His first son came here. Mr Beena overpowered the village and covered the most part of land in Dhamtan Sahib. Then Dhamtan Sahib Had 24 villages in its list that all land belonged to Beenna's.
