Shalya Parva, Mahabharata/Book IX Chapter 44 mentions the ceremony for investing Kartikeya with the status of generalissimo, the diverse gods, various clans who joined it. Dhruvaka (ध्रुवक) is mentioned in verse (IX.44.60).[2]
