विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[1] ने लेख किया है .....फ़तेहपुर (AS, 593) जिला देहरादून उत्तराखंड में स्थित है. 11वीं-12वीं सदियों में व्यापारिक काफलों के ठहरने का स्थान था. गढ़वाल के राजा यहां के बंजारों से कर वसूल करते थे किंतु अपने मुखिया के मरने पर यह लोग इस स्थान को छोड़कर शिमला की पहाड़ियों में जाकर बस गए थे.
