Village of Khidwali is a stronghold of Hooda Jats of Rohtak. It was a centre of rebellion in war of 1857. Here the Jat villagers under their headman attacked and defeated many British contingents, most notably the Hodson Horse.
This haveli in the picture is owned by family of Ch Tekram Singh Hooda ,whose ancestors fought against the British forces in revolt of 1857.
