Jharaut (झरौट) or Jharot is a village in Kharkhauda tehsil in Sonipat district of Haryana.

History

Jharoth is a village in sonipat which comes under tehsil kharkhoda. It is dominated by 'dahiya' gotra. This village also had a history of enimity between the two families - 'Lakhi group' headed by chandbir and rajbir and Second was 'Natthan' group which was headed by a local gangster Amit Dahiya and his brother Ashok Dahiya. Apart from it, this village is also know for the number of students here who joined army as leftidents and General in the army. Anandpur, the second half of jharoth village but an another panchayat in government records. Both villages are considered as one by the locals but have different Sarpanch's.

During the period of 2016-2021, Kamlesh Devi is the sarpanch of Jharoth who comes from scheduled caste. But Anandpur's sarpanch is Krishan Dahiya is a 'JAT' and a member of most powerful and dominating family in Anandpur. Krishan Dahiya's family had dominated in village and tehsil's politics from about last 40-45 years. The last elections were held in the village on 10 January 2016. On 9 November 2017, Anandpur-Jharoth become the first village of Haryana visited by present time Chief Minister of Haryana - Sh. Mannohar Lal Khattar.[1]


Origin

Jharoth comes out from Khanda Village. Khanda inhabited 12 villages Dahiya Jats so Khanda is the head of 12 villages of Dahiya Khap. The following villages of Dahiya Khap derived out from Khanda:

Jharoth, Jharothi, Nasirpur Cholka, Sehri, Bidhlan, Nirthan, Nakloi, Kheri Dahiya, Bhatgaon, Tihar, Ratangarh and Garhi Hakikat.

खांडा गांव दहिया खाप के 12 गाँवो का जनक है जिसमे मुख्यतः झरोठ, झरोठी, नसीरपुर चौलका, सेहरी, बिधलान, निरथान, नक्लोई, खेड़ी दहिया, भटगांव, तिहाड़, रतनगढ़, गढ़ी हकीकत गांव शामिल हैं।

Population of Jharaut according to Census 2001 was 1847 including males 1003 and females 844.
