Tej Ram Sharma[3] writes... 1. Jivanta (जीवंत) is mentioned in Indore Copper-plate Inscription of Skandagupta Gupta Year 146 (=A.D. 465)(L. 8): He was the head of the guild of oilmen of Indrapura. Jivanta is a one-word name. Literally it means 'long-lived', [4] which shows the wish of the parents for the child to live long. It was the name of a man in the time of Panini. [5]
Indore copper plate inscription of 465 AD mentions a tailika-sreni, guild of oilmen, of which the president (pravara) is named Jivanta. [6]
