Kharapar
Kharapar (खारापार) is a village in Baytu tehsil of Barmer district in Rajasthan.
Location
Pincode of the village is 344034. It is situated at a distance of 75 km from Barmer on approach road 5 km off from Jodhpur-Balotra-Barmer road. Distance from Baytoo town is about 30 km. The village is surrounded by sand dunes. This village has got its own gram panchayat. Jhalamaliya, Loreti and Cheebi are some of the nearby villages.
History
Origin
The village is not very old. Jats came first here and established a hamlet. They dug up a village in which water was hardy, unfit for drinking (khara in Hindi). Hence, the name Kharapar.
