Lieutenant Colonel Gaurav Solanki (12 PARA Special Forces)

Lieutenant colonel Gaurav Solanki was a Jat from Village Nasirpur Delhi, He was Para (Special Forces). 6 JAT serving the UN Mission, when he lost his life rescuing a fellow officer in Lake Kivu, Congo in 2019. In his 15 years service in the Indian Army, Col Solanki had spend 10 years fighting terrorists in Kashmir. Fondly known as Para baba, he had been an instructor at IMA and moulded many young minds. He was due to take over command of 12 Para as the CO in the next 2 weeks. His memory and service to the nation will live on forever.
