Madranagara
Madranagara (मद्रनगर) was a city mentioned by Panini. It may be same as Madrapura (मद्रपुर).

Identification
- Madranagara may probably be Madra Rampur (मद्र रम्पुर) village in Muradabad district in Uttar Pradesh. It is main village of Madra Khap.[1]
- Madranagara may also probably be Madarpur (मदरपुर) named villages at present are in Bilari and Thakurdwara Tahsils in Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh.

Madranagara (मद्रनगर ) is mentioned by Panini in Ashtadhyayi. [2]
Madrarma (मद्रार्म) is mentioned by Panini in Ashtadhyayi. [3]
History
V. S. Agrawala[4] writes that the Kashika gives the example of nagara ending town Madranagara (मद्रनगर) in the north (VII.3.24).
मद्रपुर
ठाकुर देशराज, [5] ने लिखा है -मद्र या मद्रेना (मदेरना) इनके दो दल थे - एक ईरान में आबाद था और एक पंजाब में जिसकी राजधानी मद्रपुर थी । ऐतरेय ब्राह्मण में हिमालय के उत्तर में उतर-मद्रों का स्थान बताया है और आजकल यह संयुक्तप्रांत में पाये जाते हैं ।
