Nahra-Nahri (नाहरा-नाहरी) are two twin villages in Sonipat district of Haryana. These are close to Delhi border.

History

Nahri is a Village in Distt Sonepat, Haryana. It is a very good village. About the history of Village Nahri, it was founded by Naro, on her, it's name was founded NAHRI. she was the daughter from old village and Married with Anang Pal. She Started to live at her father's home after marriage in the village with her husband. But Anang Pal was annoyed by the villagers. So he took help from his own village Kadholli. He took many young boys from Kadholli village and made a strategic in the night that which house is enlighten with the lamp will be slaughtered. He explained the plan to all their relatives and avoided enlightening lamp that night. The slaughtered to all the their enemies with lightened hours. And ruled the village. Later Naro was called in her respect Dadi (Grand mother) Naro. and name Nahri emerged. Nahri village has some famous sight as like very old Dada Shambhu Temple, where King Puranmal prayed for Divinity. and later Baba Kure Natha founded the math, and there is very old Shiva Temple.A village Fair is celebrated in the village in March month of every year on the memory of Baba Kure Natha. We can find a rear Jhaad Tree near Nemo Vali Chopal, you can not find such tree in entire india. In Nahri village there is another Temple of Baba Ganesha Natha, on Jhaal Pond. There are some other temples in the village as like, Old Radha Krishan Temple, and Jai Shiv Hanuman Temple. There is one another Math in the village name Saint Naki Ram Ashram, founded by Saint Naki Ram, Nahri is located near Paschimi yamuna Canal, and there is the Dera of Brahamchari Hans RAj, who was Guru of famous wrestler Olympian Amit Dahiya. The village is also know for its famous sports personalities as like Wrestler Kankha, Wrestler Dada Bhartu Maath, Wrestler Ratiya pahlwan, and at present olympian Wrestler Amit Dahiya, wrestler Bhuru, Wrestler ACP Satbir pahlwan, Wrestler Arun, Wrestler Pawan, and main is that village's daughters represented in National level Junior Hockey Game, and ranked 2nd in India.There are few famous pond in the village as like Baddi Jhaal, Chooti Jhaal, Ghisa wala Johad, Silku wala Johad, Karmu wala Johad, Sayed wala Johad, Ango pond etc.There was a Jungle area named Khadder in the village, but now a days occupied by local builders, where many wild animals were found, as like Deers, Fox, Rabbits, Neel Guy, Jackal, Wolf, Different kind of Snakes, Shahi Rat, vultures, kite, different kind of lizards, and many other. but nowadays the jungle is ruined by the builders and the all Babool trees are cut down and there is no animal remained.There are two Government School in the village one for boys and one for girls, both are upto 12th standard. There is one animal Vetnary hospital. There is also a post office in the village which is the collection point of post of many villages.The Nahri is a very Expansive village. It's boundary is attached with 10 other villages,people of Nahri village are so descent and amicable. people of many casts maintain brother hood in the village. Jaat is the main community in the village however there are other casts also live in the village as like, potter, black smith, gold smith, harizan, valimiki, wood cutter, baragi, dakot, muslim sikke, muslim doom, etc. About the road connectivity, nahri is directly connected with Narela, Nahara, Katlupur, Lampur, Majra, Kheri, and Safiyabad village.if you want to reach Nahri, there are Two RAilway station near the village Narela railway station and Rathdhana Railway station, from Narela you can have direct Auto, Jeep, and bus service up to the village, also bus no 131, 175, are available from Azadpur (Delhi) to Lampur border. Lampur border is attached with the village.
