Nayagaon - Ghudkawas

Nayagaon and Ghudkawas are two separate villages in Rewari tahsil and district in Haryana, but located side by side and known in conjunction with each other on Rewari Pataudi Road just 5 km Drive from Rewari. These villages are known as brother villages in the area.

History

They have a history behind it. Both the villages are founded by two Rathee brothers. They were five brothers in 19th Century and five villages were named after those five brothers as follows.

  1. Ranaswas - After Ransigh Rathee
  2. Ghudkawas - After Ghudak Singh Rathee
  3. Gujarod - After Gujarmal Rathee
  4. Shyamgarh - After Shyam Singh Rathee
  5. Ashawad - After Asha Singh Rathee

But in the war against Rao Tula Ram's special tax on JAT villages in Rewari Riyasat before 1857. Four villages except Ghudkawas got destroyed in the war against Rao Tula Ram (king of Rewari before 1857 Gadar who deployed special tax on JAT Villages in his riyasat and the inhabitants of these villages had to migrate to the safer places. But after the things settled down and Rao tula Raam lost his estate in 1857, the people came back to their native places. The people of Ranaswas found their houses deserted by the cruel ruler. They built their homes at new location in their fields and gave it a new name-- "NAYAGAON". And afterward population gradually grew and the village flourished once again.
