History
Sir Lepel H. Griffin[1] writes that Padhana village was founded by Changa 13th in descend from Sindhu. Sirdar Sadho Singh, Padhania was one of the principal Jat families of the Manjha belonging to Sindhu clan. Its founder Sindhu migrated from Ghazni in 13th century to the Manjha and settled there. Changa 13th in descend from Sindhu was an influential Chaudhary. He was the chief of thirty Jat Chaudharies and headman who went on the mission to the emperor Akbar, to arrange the marriage of that monarch with a daughter of Mir Mitta Dhariwal, a Zamindar of Dowla Kangra, near Wadni in Firozpur district. Akbar was impressed with the bravery of the girl and wished to marry her, but her father declined the honour, without the consent of his caste. He assembled a committee of 71 lambardars and Chaudharies, 35 Jats and 36 Rajputs, to decide the question. The Rajputs considered the alliance disgraceful; but the Jats with Changa at their head, approved of it and marriage took place. (This story by Griffin is not believable).
शक्तिशाली संधू जाट परिवार विरासत
सरदार जवाला सिंह संधू गांव पधाना लाहौर पंजाब, ब्रिटिश भारत का एक ऐतिहासिक जाट परिवार और उनकी ऐतिहासिक हवेली।
पधाना लाहौर सीमा क्षेत्र का एक ऐतिहासिक और पुराना गाँव है, जो सीमा के इस पार के प्रमुख भारतीय नगर नौशेहरा से उस पार लाहौर की तरफ पहला गांव है । इस गाँव की विशिष्टता सरदार जवान सिंह संधू की हवेली है, वे पंजाब में सबसे पुराने शक्तिशाली जट्ट परिवारों में से एक थे। पधाना गांव की संधू जट्ट परिवार की चौधराहट 1947 के विभाजन तक बेहद शक्तिशाली थीं। रानी जींद कौर (पंजाब की महारानी) की सबसे बड़ी बहन की शादी सरदार जवाला सिंह के साथ 1830 के आस पास हुई थी। सरदार जवाला सिंह सिक्ख एम्परर महाराजा रणजीत सिंह के साढू थे। सरदार जवाला सिंह सिख सेना में कमांडर थे और सरदार हरि सिंह नलवा जट्ट के साथ मिलकर हर जंग में लड़े थे। सरदार जवाला सिंह के पोते सरदार खजान सिंह संधू ने बंटवारे के समय पाकिस्तान में रहने का फैसला किया था और समान रूप से उस जमीन में ही दफन होने की ख्वाहिश के साथ अंतिम समय तक वही रहे। जो उनके पुरखों की जमीन थी ।वह जमीन पूरे पाकिस्तान में कमाऊ ओर आजीविका में सबसे ऊपर थी ।उनके परिवार के बाकि सदस्य विभाजन के बाद भारत चले गए।जट्ट को जमीन माँ से बढ़कर प्यारी होती है। दुनिया उलट पुलट हो जाये जट्ट मरना मर जाये जल्दी से अपनी जमीन नही छोड़ता था ।
लोगों की नज़रों से छिपी अद्भुत हवेली, अधिकारियों,सरकारों,पाक हेरिटेज सोसाइटी की नज़रों से दूर यह हवेली एक सुंदर असाधारण और भव्य संरचना है। इस हवेली की इमारत एक मुगल और सिख संरचना है, यह एक तीन मंजिला संरचना है जो नानक शाही ईंटों से बनाई गई है। उस वक़्त बहुमंजिला इमारत बनाना अंग्रेजो के लिए भी आसान नही था।
हवेली जो छोटी ईंटों के साथ है, मजबूत खड़ी है, लेकिन निश्चित रूप से बहाली के लिए ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है और मुझे यकीन है कि अगर इसे बहाल किया जाता है तो यह जट्ट सरदारी की विरासत हमेशा एक पहचान के साथ आने वाली नस्लो से जुड़ी रहेगी ।
