Pandukholi (पांडुखोली) is a mountain in Ranikhet tahsil of Almora district of Uttarakhand. It is named after the Pandava brothers of Mahabharata. Padukholi is a scenic place located in the lofty hills of Doonagiri in Almora District.

Location

Pandukholi is located located between Dvarahata and Chaukhitiya, 24 kms from Dvarahata. The caves of Pandukholi are situated at a distance of 27 km from Dwarahat.

History

It is said that during their period of anonymous travel, the Pandavas of Mahabharata took shelter at Dunagiri. Pandukholi is said to be the place near Dunagiri where they stayed for a period of time.

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[1] ने लेख किया है ...पांडुखोली पर्वत (AS, p.538): दूनागिरी पहाड़ से 4 मील उत्तर-पूर्व पांडूखोली नामक पर्वत है जहां किवदंती के अनुसार पांडवों ने अपने अज्ञातवास का कुछ समय व्यतीत किया था.
