Kala Singh and his elder brother Phuman Singh had come here from Village Karah (tah:Pehowa), Distt Kurukshetra in medieval times. 99% Jatt Population are Dandyan. Kala Singh founded Kalajhar village and Phuman Singh founded Phumanwal village.

At the time of Census-2011, the total population of Phumanwal village stood at 1777, with 326 households.
