विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ..पिपरा (AS, p.558) भारत के बिहार राज्य के अन्तर्गत पुर्णिया मण्डल के अररिया जिले का एक गाँव है। समस्तीपुर- मुजफ्फरपुर रेल-मार्ग के पिपरा नमक स्टेशन के निकट एक प्राचीन किले के खंडहर हैं जिसके भीतर सीताकुंड नामक एक तालाब है तथा [p.559]: रामायण के पात्रों से संबंधित कई मंदिर हैं. पिपरा से 4 मील पर सागर नामक ग्राम के पास एक ढूह है जिसे सागरगढ़ कहते हैं. यही एक सुंदर ताल है जिसे बुद्ध पोखर कहते हैं इसका संबंध किसी बौद्ध कथा से है.
