Patalavati (पाटलावती) is a river mentioned in Mahabharata (VI.10.21). [1]It has been identified with a branch of Chambal.

History

This stream is mentioned by Bhavabhuti in his Malatimadhava. It has been identified with a branch of Chambal. Dey [2] suggests that it may be Polaitah of Tod [3]. It has been mentioned in Mahabharata Bhism Parva.[4]


Pāṭalāvatī (पाटलावती), Paṭalāvatī (पटलावती) is a holy river of Uttara Bhārata. (Śloka 11, Chapter 9, Bhīṣma Parva). [5]
