Punaura (पुनउड़ा)/(पुनौरा) is a village in Sitamarhi district in Bihar, India. It is situated 5 km west of Sitamarhi town.

The Punaura Dham, Janki Mandir is a Hindu pilgrimage site in Sitamarhi district, in the India in state of Bihar, which has an ancient Hindu temple. It is situated 5 km west of Sitamarhi town and a popular visitor's attraction.

Punaura Dham Janki Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Goddess Sita, located in Sitamarhi, Bihar, India. Million of pilgrims visit the temple every year and most visited religious shrine in North India.

Punaura Dham is about 5 km west of Sitamarhi. Saint Pundrik's Ashram was situated here. Sita-Kund place is the honour of being the birthplace of Hindu Goddess, Sita

सीतामढ़ी

सीतामढ़ी (AS, p.969) : प्राचीन जनश्रुति में सीतामढ़ी को जनकनंदिनी सीता की जन्मस्थली माना जाता है. यह ग्राम लखनदेई नदी के तट पर अवस्थित है. सीतामढ़ी से एक मील पर पुनउड़ा नाम के गाँव के पास एक पक्का सरोवर तथा मंदिर स्थित है. कहते हैं कि सीता का जन्म इसी स्थान पर हुआ था. [1]
