• Pawania (Jat clan) = Pawani. Pawani is a village in tahsil Bilaigarh of Baloda Bazar district in Chhattisgarh. Bilaigarh Plates Of Pratapamalla - (Kalachuri) Year 969 (=1218 AD) were discovered by a farmer named Ramnath some time in 1939 while he was cultivating a field at the village Pawani, 5 miles north by west from Bilaigath, the chief town of the former Bilaigarh Zammdarî in the Raipur District (now Baloda Bazar). There is only one place, viz, , the village Sirala (L.28,V.19), mentioned in this grant. No placename corresponding to it can be traced in the vicinity of Bilaigarh. Its site seems to be occupied now by the village Pawani where the plates were found underground. This village lies only about two miles to the south of Kaitha which was granted by the same king by his Pendrabandh plates.
