Sumit Nagal (सुमित नागल) is a tennis player from village Jaitpur in district Jhajjar, Haryana. He won the 2015 Wimbledon boys' doubles title along with his Vietnamese partner Lý Hoàng Nam, defeating Reilly Opelka / Akira Santillan in the final. He became the sixth Indian player to win a junior Grand Slam Title.
Sumit was born in Jhajjar in Haryana, India on 16 August 1997 to Suresh Nagal, a teacher in MCD School at Nangloi, West Delhi. He lived in Nangloi, West Delhi until he was 10. He completed his early studies at Little Angels School, Sonipat, Haryana.
He was selected in the 1st batch of kids as part of Mahesh Bhupathi's Apollo Tyres Mission 2018 Programme. Between 2008-2010 Nagal was based in Bangalore. Upon the program closing down, Nagal shifted to Toronto, Canada where he was coached by Canadian Coach Bobby Mahal between 2008-2014. In the Spring of 2014 Nagal shifted to Offenbach, Germany to the Schuettler-Waske Tennis University. He is currently residing in Germany and is presently coached by Mariano Delfino from Argentina. He is personally managed by Mahesh Bhupathi of Globosport.
