In Armenia, the surname/last name Balian or Balyan is quite well known, in light of the Balyan architect family which was known as the Royal Architects of the Ottoman Empire. There is a physician named Harry Balian in Southern California in USA who is an Armenian. Have come across many Armenian first names which are uncannily similar to names found in India. eg. Seroj, Narbhay, Mher etc.
