Vaiduryapattana (वैदूर्यपत्तन) is a historical place situated on Godavari River in Maharashtra. It is the present-day Mungi Village, in Shevgaon Taluka in Ahmednagar District in East Maharashtra. It is the birth place of a Nimbarkacharya, who is primarily known for having founded the Kumara Sampradaya and propounded the Svābhāviki-bhedābheda or Dvaitādvaita school of thought.

History

According to tradition, Nimbārka was born in Vaidūryapattanam, the present-day Mungi Village, Paithan in East Maharashtra. His parents were Aruṇa Ṛṣi and Jayantī Devī. Together, they migrated to Mathurā and settled at what is now known as Nimbagrama (Neemgaon), situated between Barsānā and Govardhan.

वैदूर्यपत्तन

वैदूर्यपत्तन (AS, p.879): आ.प्र.में गोदावरी के तट पर स्थित है. इस कस्बे के निकट अरुणाश्रम नामक स्थान को दक्षिण के प्रसिद्ध दार्शनिक संत निंबार्काचार्य का जन्म स्थान माना जाता है. इनका एक मात्र ग्रंथ वेदांत सूत्रों पर भाष्य, 'वेदांत पारिजात सौरभ' ही मिलता है. उन्होंने द्वैताद्वैत सिद्धांत का प्रतिपादन तथा भक्ति मार्ग का संपोषण किया था. श्रीमद्भागवत से इन्हें बहुत अनुराग था.[1]
