Vizhinjam (विजिंजम) is a historical village located near Kovalam (Tiruanantapuram district) in south Kerala, India.
Variants
History
As per historians, Vizhinjam, located at the extreme south-western tip of South Asia, served as an important port throughout the history of the region. The location is economically and geopolitically significant as a key point connecting the shipping between Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

विजिंजम (AS, p.853) केरल का ऐतिहासिक ग्राम है। यह त्रिवांकुर (ट्रावनकोर) का प्राचीन बन्दरगाह हुआ करता था, जो त्रिवेन्द्रम से 7 मील की दूरी पर स्थित है। आजकल इस ग्राम में मछियारों की बस्ती है। [1]
